Bunnell Officer named Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement 2016 Officer of the year for Flagler County!
In October of 2015, Corporal Matt Mortimer responded to a call regarding an unresponsive 5 month old infant. Upon arrival, Corporal Mortimer immediately began to administer CPR on the child. He continued until the infant started to take short rapid breaths, at which point paramedics arrived and took over.
During his investigation, Corporal Mortimer observed injuries on the child indicating signs of abuse. Based on the evidence acquired through thorough investigation, the infant’s mother and boyfriend were arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect.
I am extremely proud of Corporal Matt Mortimer for his outstanding dedicated service to the citizens of Bunnell.
